Apologies
Kiri and I both made our last entries within a week of each other. How's that for weirdness?
So, what's been happening in the lives of the two girls in Norway? Well, The Empress has finally been neutered! She fell sideways into massive heat right before Christmas, let me rephrase that... The Great Grandmother of all H E A T! The heat to end all heats, literally! She was going under the knife first thing after Christmas, that much was certain. And she did, first week of January.
Poor little thing, she was so wobbly and pathetic I didn't have it in me to film her for future reference. I did take a couple of snaps, though. Poor baby, she wanted so badly to jump up onto her platform, but her hindquarters wouldn't cooperate. She kept landing on her back, all four feet in the air.
The wool on her tummy is growing back, the cut was so small it's not even visible anymore. The vet was very pleased with it, mentioned it was probably the smallest incision he'd ever made on a neutering.
I asked him beforehand to take the opportunity of having The Empress out cold, to trim her sabers. Which he did, bless him. He also gave her the one year shot and chipped her, good and proper. So now, if she falls over the ledge on the veranda, she's at least neutered and ID chipped! No bastard kittens to be had, and a fair chance of getting her back should the worst happen.
It haven't calmed her down much, yet. She's still as hyper as she can be. But at only a year and a half, she's still very much a kitten at heart.
She's putting on weight, though. Not that she was fat or too heavy before. The vet put her in the weighing basket while she was out cold, as I had told him to not even bother while she was still conscious. She weighed in at a moderate 2,5 kilos. I'm in Norway, remember? We don't do pounds and ounces, we're metric! Anyway, he told me she was at a decent weight, but putting on half a kilo, wouldn't be too bad. He recommended it. I think she might have heard him, because she does feel a little heavier now.
Face glued to my leg. 'I need love and support, 'kay?'
Slightly different angle.
'Mommy let the evil vet at me...'
The incision.
Later, the hated cone came on.
Two days later, seriously hating mom at the moment.
I'm up to working 60% now. I can feel the difference between 50 and 60% in my hand, so the doctor wants to keep me on this level for a bit longer.
It helps a lot that I have my old tasks back, as Business Solutions is now also in charge of Retailers Support! I'M HOME!!! This is what I do best, and it shows on my performance level. My Teamleader is happy with what I put in, I'm happy with my work and the bosses are happy everything is working out as well as it is.
Well, need to get myself ready for work now. I'll try to post more while I wait for Kiri to get back online with me.
